WLACE offers the adult student an opportunity to earn an educational credential in a friendly, convenient and relaxed setting. But, the success of our students is based on their ability to discipline themselves to stay on task in the classroom and to remain focused on the goal of their efforts.
ABE-Adult Basic Education
This program is for anyone wishing to improve reading, spelling or everyday math skills. This is a FREE program for those who qualify. All materials are provided. You will receive individualized instruction.
ESL-English as a Second Language
Instruction is provided for non-English speaking persons who wish to improve their spoken or written English.
GED Preparation
This program is to help anyone prepare for the GED test. This FREE service is provided through the Adult Basic Education Program. Students who meet minimum requirements are given the opportunity to take the GED tests at no charge.
High School Completion
The adult high school program is designed to meet the vocational and educational needs of adults 16 years and older. The program is offered FREE to adult non-graduates and GED holders after a consultation memo from transferring school. Classes are adult oriented and taught by certified instructors who are trained to teach adults. To qualify for a high school diploma, 20 units of credit are required. One subject successfully completed earns 1/2 credit. Graduates will be issued a Whitehall High School Diploma and may participate in a WLACE Adult Education spring graduation ceremony.
Credit Recovery
Concurrent (9-12) students may attend courses for credit recovery (½ credit per semester). A $150 course fee and signed referral form from their high school counselor is required.
